Locals flag development concerns in Ganderbal - Greater Kashmir -jkupdate

Awareness camps and Gram Sabhas were held in various areas of Ganderbal district in connection with the ongoing week-long ‘Back to Village’ program in the distric.

During the program which saw enthusiastic participation of locals, the designated officers discussed measures to further boost developmental scenario and strengthening of Panchayati Raj System in their Panchayat Halqas.

In Kullan village of Gund tehsil Deputy Director Rural Sanitation Mehraj Ahmed Shah met with the PRI members as well as prominent citizens of respective Halqas and gave a patient hearing to their grievances.

The visiting officer listened to the issues of people and documented their feedback on different state and central sponsored schemes.

Likewise, in various Panchayat Halqas of Gund, Ramwari, Nunner and Rayil the officers laid foundation of various developmental works.

The general public flagged several issues related to agriculture and allied sectors and augmenting of civic amenities in their respective Panchayat Halqas.

Issues related to macadamization and up gradation of roads, construction of playgrounds, improvement in electric supply, replacement of old water pipes, transformers, repair of damaged electric poles and increasing transportation facilities were also highlighted during the Gram Sabhas.
