Water supply to 54 neighbourhoods across western, central and northern city and in adjoining Ganderbal district will be “adversely affected” on Tuesday and Wednesday due to urgent repair work, a senior official of the water works department said.

The areas in northern Srinagar which will be adversely affected by the water supply include Zakoora, Gulab Bagh, Alusteng, Shoohama, Hadoora, Khamila, Busarbagh, Habak, Naseem Bagh, Malla Bagh, Pandach, Buchpora, Soura, Anchar, Saidapora, Bolochipora, Zoonimar, Nowshehra, Baghi Ali Mardan Khan, Lal Bazar, Hazratbal, Sadrabal and Nigeen.

In west of the city, the areas that will be affected by the water shortage include Bemina, Firdous Abad, Qamarwari, Zainakoot, Noorabad, Umar Abad and Chattabal. In Ganderbal district, the affected areas include Watloo, Nonar, Tulmula, Dangerpora, Haram, Shripatri, Gugjigund, Malikpora, Arampora, Darind and Malshahi Bagh.

Areas to be hit by water shortage

• An official said portable water supplied from Rangil, Beehama and Alusteng shall remain affected on Tuesday and Wednesday. The water supply will be affected due to “urgent repair work to be carried out in Sind Power Canal”, the official said.
• The areas in northern Srinagar which will be adversely affected by the water supply include Zakoora, Gulab Bagh, Alusteng, Shoohama, Hadoora, Khamila, Busarbagh, Habak, Naseem Bagh, Malla Bagh, Pandach, Buchpora, Soura, Anchar, Saidapora, Bolochipora, Zoonimar, Nowshehra, Baghi Ali Mardan Khan, Lal Bazar, and others.
