Two arrested with illegal weapons - Times of India

Police arrested two and seized illegal weapons in two separate cases during a special operation on Sunday. DCP (West) Kavendra Singh Sagar informed TOI that Shezad alias Babu (23) was arrested with an illegal pistol from JDA Colony Road and Anil Sansi (30) from RIICO road was also nabbed with illegal firearms. “There is a special operation underway to track down the accused involved in illegal arms trade. Our teams had specific inputs following which we raided hideouts and arrested the accused,” Sagar said, adding that the duo was booked under the Arms Act.
43kg doda post seized, 2 drug peddlers held: The Kalwad police station cops arrested two drug peddlers and seized 43kg of doda post as part of the ongoing ‘Operation Clean Sweep’. DCP (West) Kavendra Singh Sagar said that the accused have been identified as Raj Kumar (25) and Rajesh (26). “Apart from doda post, 15gram of opium was also recovered from the accused. We have seized the car in which the narcotics were being transported,” Sagar told TOI, adding that a case was registered under the NDPS Act against the accused.
Members of Shiraz gang arrested: City police arrested two accused who are part of the Shiraz gang under the ongoing clean sweep operation. The accused identified as Wasim Ahmed (31) and Mohammad Saeed (30) were arrested under Arms Act with two country-made pistols and four cartridges. According to officials, both of them were out on bail and were looking to kill gangster Munna Talwar.
Polo matches to begin in Jodhpur: Twentieth polo season of Jodhpur will begin from Monday at the Maharaja Gaj Singh Sports Foundation Polo Ground. To be held under the aegis of Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute, six tournaments and eight exhibition matches will be played in this event which will last for a month. Honorary secretary of the institute Col Ummed Singh siad the exhibition matches will also include Maharaja Hanwant Singh Cycle Polo match on December 25 and Jodhpur International Ladies’ Polo Cup. Renowned polo players from across the globe will participate in this event to exhibit their skills to coordination among their mallets, balls and the horses.
Burglars rob 3 city houses: Three vacant houses were broken into in broad daylight on Sunday at Jhotwara, Pratap Nagar and Adarsh Nagar. In separate incidents, the accused made off with valuables when no one was at home. The families have registered cases at the respective police stations and cops are investigating.
